The SEPIA team of the Laboratory of Signal and Image Processing (LTSI, Rennes, France), is involved in the field of cardiovascular signal processing and modeling, with applications on implantable devices. Our team participates in a large-scale multidisciplinary project (INTENSE project) involving 4 research units in France, 2 hospitals and 3 industries on the field of implantable medical devices. One objective of the INTENSE project is to develop highly innovative implantable devices, capable of optimally stimulating both the heart and the autonomic nervous system. The successful candidate will work on the cardiovascular signal processing aspects of the project. The successful candidate will work on the cardiovascular signal processing. It will have to: 1) Design and develop appropriate multivariate signal processing methods, (combining blood pressure, electrocardiogram, respiration, for example) to characterize the cardiovascular response to the combined cardio-neurological stimulation. 2) Design, develop a real-time workbench integrating the proposed signal-processing methods. The candidate should have a strong background and experience in signal processing. A good working experience in MATLAB/Octave, LabView is required. The candidate must be rigorous, creative and show a strong interest in translational research and application of signal processing methods to health context. Applicants should send a CV, a brief statement of research experience to Alfredo.Hernandez [at] inserm.fr and Guy.Carrault [at] univ-rennes1.fr.
