Sujet de Thèse: Simulation of cardiovascular hemodynamic interaction in long-term mechanical circulatory support

The main goal is to optimise surgical strategy (choice of device, choice of ventricular site and implantation modalities) by means of preoperative computer-aided planning of the implantation of mechanical circulatory devices. The few studies reported until now, including those of the team, rely mainly on morphological analysis, in particular for the assessment of the free space in chest cavity. To date, the literature presents only a few studies related to simulation in the context of ventricular assist devices in order to analyse the causes of postoperative complications. The main issue addressed in this project is to implement a reliable numerical simulation approach for the precise analysis of functional interactions (fluid-structure) of the device with the cardiovascular environment.
